The Argument

At nearly seven years old, Junior Mayhem is man who knows what he wants and knows EVEN more what he doesn't. The fact that he delights in shunning things most kids his age adore comes as no surprise to myself of the Mr......however.........when he starts throwing out directives that could adversely affect my future.........the blissful, empty nest future that I so long to one day possess.....we have a problem!

"I am NEVER getting married!" the foolish, foolish Junior had the audacity to say to me! Being the loving mother that I am.....I delicately responded, "Well...I hope you don't think you will live with Daddy and I for the rest of your life!" He assured me that this was not his plan and went on to blather about nine kinds of other nonsense.....did I mention the boy talks INCESSANTLY? I tend to tune out...for my own sanity.

It was later that week that he came home speaking about an argument he and A girl had on the playground. A girl is a precious, red headed child that has been in JM's class since kindergarten. For some unforeseen reason she loves her some JM. She wants to sit by him, play with him, and apparently has some long term plans for their relationship. It would seem that JM and A girl had an argument at recess. JM felt compelled to share his non-matrimonial feeling and it was NOT well recieved. A girl informed him that, indeed, he would be getting married.......and she had full intention for it to be to HER!

Poor guy......he actually thinks he has a chance at resisting this sassy, red-headed girlie! And me......I'm planning for my peaceful time.....as we speak!
